    Dr Cara Courage SFIPM, FRSA is a creative industries worker, arts and place consultant and scholar, named in the top 10 of place-thinkers globally and a ‘strategy angel’ for the arts sector. Cara has a prodigious creative industries, cultural institutions and higher education professional career alongside a renowned academic one. Cara undertakes her own arts/place research and the same for academy and sector-commissioned partners in the USA, Australia, and across the UK, including for national arts networks, cultural institutions and local and central government. Cara speaks internationally on topics covering across arts and place, placemaking, C21st museum and socially engaged art. Author of Arts in Place: The Arts, the Urban and Social Practice (Routledge, 2017); co-editor of Creative Placemaking and Beyond (Routledge, 2018); and editor of The Routledge Handbook of Placemaking (Routledge, 2021).

  • Dr Anita McKeown

    Dr Anita McKeown, FRSA, FIPM, is an award-winning artist, curator, educator and researcher working at the intersection of Inclusive design, Creative Placemaking, Technology (Open Source Culture and Technology) and STEAM education, across a range of inter and transdisciplinary projects, processes and partnerships. Anita is the director of SMARTlab Skelligs, a satellite of the global research network SMARTlab Research Institute, UCD SMARTlab Academy, and co-lead, Muinín Catalyst Sustainable STEAM, a Science Foundation Ireland / Dept. of Education 2-year funded education project (2022 – 24) with 16 schools in the Munster Region. Anita’s work uses an adaptive change method reverse-engineered for 21st century challenges and integrates design-thinking, circular economic principles, and the SDGs / Earth Charter to encourage a growth mindset and develop strategies and tactics to build social, environmental and economic resilience and encourage systemic behavioural change. Anita is co-editor, with Cara, of Creative Placemaking and Beyond (Routledge, 2018) and was one of seven sub-editors with Cara on The Routledge Handbook of Placemaking (Routledge, 2012).
